JSC "DnSZ" in 2024
SC DnSZ continues to focus its production on advanced turnout products in the segment of R65 turnouts with enhanced quality characteristics to increase speed and 60E1, 54E1, and 49E1 turnouts for the European and Asian markets, as well as components for these turnouts. Mainline turnouts for Ukrainian and foreign railways on elastic fastening systems with a 1435mm gauge. Fig.1. R65 type interlacing, 1/11 mark, 1435mm gauge to 1520mm gauge on a concrete sleeper This development strategy is also based on studying the evolution of the railway sector in Ukraine: Infrastructure modernization: track reconstruction, construction of new 1435mm gauge routes, and implementation of new technologies to increase high-speed railway sections. Logistics centers: the creation of logistics hubs to optimize transportation processes by expanding the number of 1435mm tracks and their connection with the 1520mm gauge. International cooperation: the development of railway corridors with Europe and Asia, which can significantly strengthen foreign economic relations. Fig.2. Turnout, 1/11 mark, 1435 gauge on a concrete sleeper To achieve the established goals, in 2024, various turnout projects were designed and certified for serial production, including turnouts crossing the 1520mm and 1435mm track gauges for border crossings of the Ukrainian railway to the railways of neighboring European countries, an R65 turnout with a 1435mm gauge on a reinforced concrete sleeper, and a 49E1 turnout produced for European railways. The project Dn 405.00.000 and project 2497.20.000 with 49E1A3 Switch Blades
In order to solve issues related to the adaptation of railway transportation from 1520mm gauge to 1435mm gauge and restoring the production of switch products of the P50 type, JSC "DnSZ" developed a project for a P65 type diamond crossing of 1/9 grade for 1520 mm and 1435 mm gauges (Dn 405.00.000) and a P50 type switch of 1/11-1/9 grade for 1520 mm gauge (project 2497.20.000) with 49E1A3 switch blades. On August 29, 2024, a working commission for the qualification testing of the new products was held on the territory of JSC "DnSZ." The commission included representatives from JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" and specialists from JSC "DnSZ." The P65 type diamond crossing of 1/9 grade for 1520 mm and 1435 mm gauges (Dn 405.00.000) Dn 405.00.000 is designed for right-side crossings where the 1435 mm gauge is to the right of the 1520 mm gauge (Dn 405.00.000 - 01 represents a left-side crossing) and is intended for installation on wooden sleepers to facilitate the movement of rolling stock at railway track intersections. It is used for installation on main and reception-departure tracks. The design consists of two assembled diamond switches, two solid-cast obtuse crossings on gangways, four rails with independent check rails made of 33S1 rail, and screw fastenings on SKL 65 baseplates. The existing P50 type diamond crossing of 1/9 grade (project 1624Dn) was as a reference for the new development. The Dn 405 project incorporates components from serial designs. The commission concluded that the products successfully passed the tests and are recommended for use on JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" tracks. Due to the absence of OR50-type switch rails, JSC "DnSZ" has developed and manufactured an P50 type switch of 1/11-1/9 grade with 49E1A3 switch blades (project 2497.20.000), which has the same geometric parameters and operational characteristics as the P50 type switch of 1/11-1/9 grade with OP50-type switch blades (project 2497.10.000). The locations for track gauge control measurements using a template and the permissible deviations are similar to those of the currently operated P50 type switches with OP50-type switch blades on Ukrainian tracks. To ensure a consistent rolling surface level for the P50 type stock rail with 49E1A3 switch blades, reduced height switch rail chairs (36 mm) are used instead of the standard 40 mm switch rail chairs, as the height of the switch blade from the 49E1A3 rail is 4 mm higher than that of the OR50-type switch rail blade. In P50 type switches with switch blades made from 49E1A3 rails, the thickness of the spacer between the switch blade web and the lug is adjusted to maintain a constant distance of 160 mm between the working edge of the stock rail and the axis of the lug, identical to that for switch blades made from R50-type switch rails. These features allow the use of P50 type switches of 1/11-1/9 grade with 49E1A3 switch blades in new switches, as well as for replacing worn parts in R50 type switches with OR50-type switch blades currently in use on the tracks of Ukrzaliznytsia. Additionally, the switch blade position stabilizer, project Dn345.05.000, was presented for acceptance. The switch blade position stabilizer is a technical device used in turnouts to ensure reliable holding of the switch blades in their final positions at train speeds of up to 200 km/h. The switch blade position stabilizer can be used in turnouts installed on both concrete and wooden sleepers. The installation of the switch blade position stabilizer can be performed at any point along the length of the processed part of the switch blades. The use of the switch blade position stabilizer is advisable in turnouts with long flexible switch blades, allowing the replacement of complex sets with longitudinal connecting rods with simpler and more reliable sets of the 16737Dn type in operation. The standard fastening assembly of the switch rod yoke is used to attach the switch blade position stabilizer to the switch blades. The stabilizer is attached to the turnout sleepers using screw fastenings. Reliable holding of the switch blades in their final positions and transitioning from one working position of the stabilizer to another is achieved by a rigid spring. The threaded rod on the bracket allows for the adjustment of the switch blade's pressure against the stock rail and the size of the gap between the withdrawn switch blade and the stock rail individually for each switch blade. The Law of Ukraine "On the Condemnation of the Communist and National Socialist (Nazi) Totalitarian Regimes in Ukraine and the Prohibition of Propaganda of Their Symbols" condemns the communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine, establishing the legal basis for prohibiting the propaganda of their symbols and totalitarian regimes. JSC "DnSZ" uses terminology associated with the totalitarian communist regime in its name. According to the Collection of Materials, Recommendations, and Documents on the Implementation of the Requirements of the specified Law of Ukraine, issued by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory in 2015, Hryhorii Ivanovych Petrovskyi (1878-1958) was an organizer of the "Red Terror" in Ukraine and participated in the destruction of the Ukrainian national movement. He was one of the initiators of the organization of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine. The law stipulates that legal entities, in case of violation of its requirements, must bring their founding documents, name, and/or symbols in compliance with the requirements of this Law. According to the Law of Ukraine "On Joint Stock Companies," decisions on amending the founding documents and the name of the Company, falls under the exclusive competence of the general meeting of shareholders. P65 turnout, mark 1/9, 1524 mm gauge, Dn 340.00.000; (-01) for reinforced concrete sleepers
Taking into account the urgent need of industrial railway transport to replace the wooden sleepers of turnouts with reinforced concrete ones, JSC "DnSZ" has developed a project of P65 turnout, mark 1/9, 1524 mm gauge, Dn 340.00.000; (-01) for reinforced concrete sleepers, Dn 340-BS. In order to adapt the geometric parameters of the new turnout to those of the turnouts for industrial technological transport, the geometry of P65 turnout, mark1/9, 1524 mm gauge, LPTPT.665121.001Dn, and 65109Zh-BS reinforced concrete sleepers designed for M2215 turnouts were used in this project. On June 6, 2023, a working committee was held at JSC "DnSZ" to inspect new products. The following specialists took part in the work of the commission: Leonid DRUGAKOV, head of the railway workshop of Yuzhkoks PJSC, Oleksandr SHURUEV, head of the overhaul department of PJSC Zaporizhstal, and representatives of JSC DnSZ Oleksandr KAYDAS, Volodymyr DROGAITSEV and Klara KORNOUKHOVA. The turnout can be used with both manual (1709) and electric (SP-6) switch machines: Dn 340.00.000; (-01) – for manual switch machine – Dn 340.50.000 fittings with 1709; Dn 340.00.000-02; (-03) – for electric switch machine – Дн 340.40.000 fittings and SP-6. Electric switch machine is not included. The main design features of the turnout: plates with high flanges. KBL 65 with cast PKL rail clip in the switch zone; the switch has three connecting strips to ensure stability of the track; pivoted tongues of crossing type treated at high-frequency induction heating machine; adjusting gaskets are provided for the second gauge control rod; rail-bound frog with reinforced plates; check rail in the front stock rail overhang; frog check rail with check rail made of rolled rail; turnouts for electrical interlocking are supplied with an insulated joint; a set of rubber sleeper pads; on sleepers No. 29 - No. 30 along the inner thread of the side track, No. 57 t - No. 58 on the outer threads in the joints, special pads are installed for the possibility of using the existing sleepers and ensuring the reliability of fastening the pads to the sleepers using the PKL rail clip; insert bolt fastening of sleeper pads. The use of plates with high flanges ensures the reliability of fastening the rail elements to the pads and their fastening the sleepers. Dn 340 turnout can be used instead of LPTPT.665121.001Dn turnout. The participants highly appreciated the innovative solutions and quality, and expressed their desire to see the new products in action as soon as possible.
